Choices > how we can help

  • Information counselling and advice – to help think through a range of options and implications that might influence a decision to stay or return.  Interpreters can be arranged if necessary.
  • Information about your country of origin - to inform of the current security situation and political climate.
  • Information about UK immigration rules - help understand the legal procedure.
  • Support arrangements in the UK – to inform of your rights and entitlements and help access support where possible.
  • Applying for assistance to return including travel documents – we can assist to apply to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) for financial assistance in getting back to your country of origin, and help on your arrival. 
  • Travel planning - including route information requirements and documentation.
  • Work with vulnerable groups - such as minors, people with health needs.
  • Longer term planning - to help explore possible options and resources in relation to education and employment in the UK and overseas, geared towards later reintegration in their country of origin.
  • Family issues - including advice on implications for those child/adult family members who might remain in the UK.
  • Women's issues - we try to meet the particular needs of women asylum-seekers and refugees.
  • Referrals to other agencies – help find support and assistance from other agencies, if we can’t help.
